Some lawyers are pure scum.
Boyd Billingsworth is an extremely wealthy lawyer from Belleville, Canada who makes his fortune separating elderly widows and spinsters from their money. Timothy Camacho is a poor, overworked Catholic priest with a kind and generous heart who resides in Bleakwood, Texas. These polar opposites meet by chance in an airport on their way to Las Vegas and are forced to share a hotel room.
During a heated discussion fueled by beer, the priest accuses the lawyer of being a greedy, immoral predator. The attorney retaliates by claiming that the Catholic Church is just as embedded in the business of milking old widows. He calls the Catholic Church just another avaricious multinational corporation and an abusive employer which, by grossly overworking and underpaying its priests, has effectively turned Father Timothy into a pathetic slave.
The lawyer and the priest are both profoundly affected by that insulting exchange, and their lives and careers are deeply impacted.
When greed and charity are thrown together, neither escapes unscathed.
